Chiefs, Bucs & Downs in race for Mzansi’s rising star?

-

Interest in one of South Africa’s rising stars, Mojalefa Mokhobo, is escalating from top PSL clubs - according to Siya sources in the know.

In edition 1114 of Soccer Laduma, it was reported that the young talented star had been indented as future star, following his exploits for Alaxandra Black Aces under their current head coach, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder David Mathebula.

Having progressed through the SAFA Transnet School of Excellence, Mokhobo is aiming to follow in the footsteps of his former teammate, Phakamani Mahlambi, and according to the news reaching the Siya crew, he is on the right track.

One source close to the player’s dealings explained that Polokwane City, Black Leopards and all of the so-called Big Three - in Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns - have been following the player’s progress at Aces, with their respective scouts tracking him closely.

“Mojalefa Mokhobo has been impressive for Alexandra Black Aces in their attempts of moving away from relegation zone in the ABC Motsepe League. Aces have beaten Swallows and Orlando Pirates’ ABC Motsepe League team in some of their recent matches as they continue with their one of the standout performers for Mathebula’s team,” said the source.

“Scouts from Sundowns and Chiefs have been following the young star (Mokhobo). The scouts have been raving about Aces’ number 15, and that player they have been talking about is Mokhobo,” added the source.

Aces’ focus for now will be to finish the season as high up on the log as possible, before entertaining any offers for Mokhobo, or any of their talented youngsters.

“Pirates have also been monitoring the player and enquiring about him, while Polokwane City have also been making enquiries. Black Leopards have also been enquiring.

All these clubs are keen on signing the player on a professional contract,” concluded the source.
