Quick One-Two’s

I agree totally with what Doctor Khumalo spoke about in his column last week, re: the treatment meted out to our Mamelodi Sundowns players. I have felt that anger so many times before and now we have a prominent legend mentioning it. We have kept quiet for so long and it just continues unabated. Both FIFA and CAF are doing nothing about it. Enough is enough, we cannot be subjected to such rubbish any longer. The worst part of it was the objects that were thrown to the players during and

after the game by Al-Ahly supporters. It’s going to happen in the semifinals where Sundowns are going to play another North African club. Are we going to fold our arms and say we are going to give them five-star treatment? No ways! It’s high time we dish out as good as we are given, and maybe then FIFA and CAF will be driven act. We are sick and tired of this treatment. We don’t need to beg to anybody to be respected. We are sick and tired of being treated like trash. Let’s rise and defend ourselves against these “thugs”. Thabang Lehoko, via email The pressure is piling up on at Orlando Pirates. With three games left, talk about living in fear for the Sea Robbers! Mamelodi Sundowns are no longer under any pressure as they are the underdogs now. Any three points the way of Downs from now on will feel like a dagger in the hearts of the Buccaneers’ faithful. Let the best team win… and “let it go where it’s supposed to go”, I dare say! Terah Maqepula, Mount Fletcher In the whole wide world, title races are reaching a crescendo. Here on the home front, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits are giving each other sleepless nights. In the English Premier League, Manchester City and Liverpool are taking turns at the top of the summit. In the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are battling it out for honours. All these leagues may be decided on the last day and it is really interesting for the fans. As I pull up my chair! Siyabonga Nkalambela, Delft Let me congratulate Pitso Mosimane and his Sundowns team for grinding results under difficult circumstances. After losing to SuperSport United midweek, they made amends against Baroka FC over the past weekend. I’m so disappointed with the PSL for the way that they are handling Downs’ matter. Coach Mosimane was right to say, “Let the championship goes where it supposed to go.” Sundowns are certainly receiving the raw end of the deal from the league. How can you play a game every three days, and still have to factor in the travelling? Not to mention that these are high intensity games. These are human beings, not robots. A game of football must be won on the field of play, not in the boardroom. It seems like the PSL is playing a waitand-see game until the final match against Free State Stars before they take their points, or whatever the sanction. I just wish that Sundowns can take it one game at a time and I wish them all the best for their CAF Champions League first leg semi-final against Wydad Casablanca in Morocco.
