ARROWS FAIL TO SHOOT FOR THE (GALAXY OF) STARS!

-

I would like to congratulate Dan Malesela and his team for their sensational win over Golden Arrows in a David versus Goliath scenario. TS Galaxy’s historic march to the Nedbank Cup final against Kaizer Chiefs has set a good precedent that any club with an ambition to do greater things can compete for top honours in the local football. We expect to see an exciting Nedbank final in May. Batsirai Kativu, Johannesburg I hereby congratulate TS Galaxy for making it to the final of the Cup of Dreams. Arrows had a great first half, but they failed to capitalise on their chances. Dan Malesela’s side came back a different team in the second half as they started to gain more possession of the ball and that also brought back their confidence. I also think Arrows took Galaxy for granted and they relaxed by giving them room to take control and have a lion’s share of the possession. The introduction of Zakhele Lepasa gave the Durbanbased side more problems as their legs were starting to give in. Let’s give credit where it is due to Malesela, who is a great coach. Well done to the club and good luck for the final. Madimetja Vic Mashamaite, Renstown A job well done to TS Galaxy for making it through to the Nedbank Cup final. I thought Golden Arrows would go through and steal it against Kaizer Chiefs, but Mr Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela had other tricks up his sleeves. The odds may be against Galaxy lifting the trophy, but hey, this cup has always served us with many surprises! Mpumalanga football is on the rise. Butho Mabuza Matsulu SIY’ EDURBAN! Congratulations are in order to Kaizer Chiefs for proceeding to the final of the Nedbank Cup. It was not an easy game, but they made it through against all odds. I really admired their fighting spirit, coming from 2-1 to win the game 4-2. I take my hat off to them. Taking nothing away from TS Galaxy, but methinks this is Kaizer Chiefs’ cup to lose. They must win it for their supporters. Khosi I remain! Seun Magakwe, Khutsong, Carletonville What a thrilling Nedbank Cup semifinal between Chippa United and Amakhosi on Saturday night! This was a final before the final and, most importantly, the supporters got their money’s worth. Congratulations to our noisy neighbours (Chiefs) for making it to the final, they deserved it. As for my home team, the Chilli Boys, they must focus on saving their Absa Premiership status, which looks to be in danger. Bongani Mgubela, Diepkloof It is not about how you start the race, but how you manage to finish it – this applies to the Kaizer Chiefs team. Amakhosi started slowly in the Nedbank Cup, even struggling to beat small teams like The Magic FC and Tornado FC, but they soldiered on and now they are in the final after they nicely dealt with Chippa. Well done to Ernest Middendorp and his boys. I sincerely hope that Chiefs will break their trophy-less drought. Batsirai Kativu, Johannesburg I’m so thrilled, to say the least, about Kaizer Chiefs’ performance. Dax, what a player! He reminds me a lot of Ronaldinho and his confidence is superb. With this kind of performance, this team will go places, but I’m still not impressed with Kgotso Moleko, as I feel that he is the weakest link in that defence. Masixole Samuel, via email
