Pitso has a plan

Sonwabile Makwethu - Port Elizabeth region Branch Manager

- Cheers, Sonwabile Makwethu

Good day, football people A special thanks to the Supporters Club Committee for giving me the platform to address all those who support the beautiful game.

On the Nedbank Cup semi-final results

What I can say is that, once again, the Nedbank Cup has lived up to its long-standing slogan of ‘Cup of Dreams’. Not a lot of those who support the game gave TS Galaxy a chance against Golden Arrows, but the National First Division side dished out a gutsy performance and showed no fear against the Absa Premiership side. The game between Chippa United and Kaizer Chiefs was the final before the final. It was definitely one of the best games we’ve seen this season. Six goals were scored, and not just goals, but brilliant goals at that! Congratulations to both Chiefs and TS Galaxy for going through to the final. This is a fairy tale story for Galaxy, who are not even a year old but have reached the final of a major cup competition.

On Sundowns in the CAF CL semi-final

Well, there is a rivalry of some sort developing between Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Casablanca. I think it is due to the fact that these two teams have played against one another more than once in this competition. Pitso Mosimane can already picture himself winning it and I know that he has a plan going into this one. All I can say is good luck, Masandawana, and keep flying Mzansi flag high in the continent.

On the relegation battle

As we are edging closer to the finish line, more teams are slowly but surely being dragged into the relegation battle. The problem down there is that all the teams that are not safe seem to be waiting for one another. Whenever one loses, the others all drop points, hence there hasn’t been any change. Their fate will surely be decided when they face one another.
