The boy from South London who was seen by his peers as a leader from a very young age has been making the headlines in European dailies. Strong, athletic and disciplined, the former Watford youth player’s career rise has been nothing short of mercurial. Sancho says he saw Ronaldinho as a role model as he watched the Brazilian magician regularly to reach such great heights. His 14 assists in the Bundesliga this season are the most in the league, and he is the youngest player to have scored nine goals or more in the history of the league. He is the only U23 player in the five major leagues in Europe to register double figures for goals (11) and assists (14) this season, and to imagine that he is amongst only four players who have managed to reach double figures in both goals and assists in Europe’s big five leagues illustrates how outstanding he is.
