Jadon Sancho / (Borussia Dortmund/England)

- By Oma Akatugba (Nigerian journalist in Germany) & Publisher of Omasport

The world has seen nothing yet. He is one of the world’s most sought-after youngsters. Always pulling German roofs down, sending commentators, fans and opposition players into total awe of his rare and exceptional talent, Jadon Sancho has become the real deal. The boy from South London who was seen by his peers as a leader from a very young age has been making the headlines in European dailies. Weekly, he sends tongues wagging and eyes asking for more of the trickery in his bag. Strong, athletic and disciplined, the former Watford youth player’s career rise has been nothing short of mercurial. Sancho says he saw Ronaldinho as a role model as he watched the Brazilian magician regularly to reach such great heights. He is nothing near the former FC Barcelona man yet, but his beginning is worth some gold! His 14 assists in the Bundesliga this season are the most in the league, and he is the youngest player to have scored nine goals or more in the history of the league. He is the only U23 player in the five major leagues in Europe to register double figures for goals (11) and assists (14) this season, and to imagine that he is amongst only four players who have managed to reach double figures in both goals and assists in Europe’s big five leagues illustrates how outstanding he is. In a hugely competitive space for greatness, the Three Lions winger has shown he is one that truly deserves the accolades, and it is not the end yet, as there are lots more in the cooler.
