I experienced two Puleng Tlolanes

Jozef Vukusic – Former Polokwane City head coach

“Well, I cannot say anything bad about him. How can I not know who he was? That is not true. Why did he say such nonsense? What I can say is that I experienced two Puleng Tlolanes at Polokwane City – the one when I arrived and the one when I left. When I arrived, there was a side of him that was not very professional, and I think that was the history with him. He did change, though, and I liked him. Quality and potential-wise, he is one of the best players at Polokwane City. He has a special thinking and game intelligence. The problem, also, when I came was that he was not fit and he was not working hard for the team, as I expected from all my players. The other thing was that he was playing as a number 10 and I had Jabu Maluleke, who was working hard despite his age. He (Tlolane) worked hard in the second round of the season and when we saw that, we started playing him. I think because he had a very good season prior to me coming in, he did not see the need to continue working hard. He became a different player when he changed (his attitude). There was some history when I came, where people told me that ever since he had that great season, he didn’t see the need to work hard. I came when he was down and I tried working hard with him and I am not angry that he said what he said. I like him and he is one of the best. He and Jabu Maluleke are the best. I will not speak about the wrong things. I left him a better player and even when I watch him now, I can see he is a great player.”
