We never experienced problems with him

Shakes Mashaba – Former Bafana Bafana coach

“Aya was a very good player in our U20 team and we even went on to make him the captain. He was skillful and hard-working on the field and very disciplined off the pitch. There was a club, which I won’t mention, where he was summoned for some disciplinary behaviour and all that. I don’t know what the reason was for that, but in the national team he was well-behaved and he was always working hard. We never experienced problems with him. I am very happy to hear that he has gone to play overseas. I have lost contact with him for such a long time and I did not know where he was, until I heard he is overseas. I don’t much about the football they play in Finland, but knowing him, I know he has a good chance of making it. Age is on his side, so he has a good chance to go on. Give him another few years, I think he stands a good chance of doing well.”
