One massive advantage for Chiefs when Mathoho is fully fit is the huge goalscoring threat he brings to the table. Not only is Mathoho a brilliant aerial target at attacking set-plays, but he also has a really good shot on him and is a massive danger on long throws, both when he comes forward to attack those deliveries from Frosler, but also being able to take long throws himself when the latter is unavailable.

Throughout his time at the Naturena-based outfit, Mathoho has averaged around a goal every 10 appearances, meaning he is always good for three or four goals per season when he is playing every week. In his 162 Absa Premiership outings for Amakhosi, he has netted 13 times and has a further six goals from 34 domestic cup appearances too. This season, he has four goals to his name and has contributed heavily to two other goals.
