PEN TO PAPER…
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane (left), pictured alongside the club’s President, Patrice Motsepe, during the Tshwane giants’ 50th anniversary announcements in Sandton, Johannesburg, last Thursday. Among the announcements was that Mosimane would continue in his role on the Downs bench for a further four years in what is believed to be a lucrative new deal for the Kagiso-born mentor who has won four league titles, the CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup, the Nedbank Cup and the Telkom Knockout with Masandawana. The new contract comes after months of speculation about Mosimane’s future, including that he was on the wanted list of some of the top teams on the continent, as well as from as far afield as Qatar, and that the negotiations were dragging on because of certain contentious clauses that he wanted inserted on the deal. In the end, he signed on, much to the relief and delight of the Ka Bo Yellow faithful, who expressed their feelings on various social media platforms.
