SuperSport favourites to land Brockie?

-

SuperSport United have emerged as favourites to land the signature of striker Jeremy Brockie as he awaits a decision on his future at Mamelodi

Sundowns, his parent club.

Brockie was sent out on loan to Maritzburg United by the Brazilians for the 2019/20 season, having struggled for game-time under coach Pitso Mosimane and expressing an appetite to get his career back on track.

Although Downs still have a say on his movements beyond the campaign that has been halted by the

Coronavirus pandemic since mid-March, they have until Sunday, May 31, to confirm whether or not the club will exercise the option to keep Brockie at Chloorkop.

The Siya crew has been informed that SuperSport, where Brockie became popular and made a name for himself in SA football by scoring over 40 goals in more than 100 matches before their crosstown rivals snapped him up two years ago, have shown a keen interesti in taking him back shoulds he become a free agent.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Sundowns may opt to cut ties with Brockie given his well- documented frustrations about not playing, meaning he would officially become a free agent at the end of the season.

His agent, Mike Makaab, has previously told the Siya crew that there is interest in the topflight for Brockie. And indications are that SuperSport are leading that race.
