I am crossing fingers…

Good day, football lovers

On SAFA and PSL’s big decision

Well, I think SAFA and the PSL have done the right thing to put their heads together to try and find solutions regarding COVID19 and when exactly the league will resume. For me, I think it is still very early to say let’s return to playing. Let them be patient, but we can start the group training maybe. But what I have seen is that there’s still unresolved issues there between the two bodies. I read that SAFA is the one stopping everything because of lack of funds. If there’s any truth to that, then both bodies are going about it the wrong way. This is not the time to show who is calling the shots, who has the money or who is the boss. They have to work together for the benefit of football and the lives of footballers. Right now, it looks like each of them is pulling in a different direction.

Message to supporters

I know that we all miss the game because we have never spent so much time without it before, but we need to be patient and not force matters because lives are at stake here. We must always remember that there has never been a Coronavirus before, so we should all understand the situation and be patient. The decisions cannot be taken because of us missing football, but based on the safety of all involved.

On Wits, Celtic and ‘For Sale’ sign

There has been so much talk about the sale of Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic and I do not know if it would be a good thing to take a team away from the people who care about it, as in the case of Celtic. I understand that football is now business and all that, but I am crossing fingers that both teams remain where they are even if they change owners. Can you imagine Bloemfontein without Celtic? What will happen to Bidvest Stadium if Wits is no longer there? Goodbye, Dejan
