NEW SSU DEAL ON THE CARDS FOR BHASERA?

-

There could be a new deal on the cards for SuperSport United’s vet

eran defender, Onismor Bhasera, the Siya crew has been reliably informed.

SuperSport have been working behind the scenes by tying down some of their experienced campaigners. The likes of Clayton Daniels, 35, and Siyabonga Nhlapo, 31, were handed one-year extensions. Meanwhile second-choice goalkeeper Boalefa Pule, 30, was rewarded with a three-year extension.

The latest player who is set for an extension with the Tshwane outfit is veteran left back Onismor Bhasera.

The man from Mutare in Zimbabwe has been a pivotal part of coach Kaitano Tembo’s side this season and has missed just five of Matsatsantsa’s league games played in the 2019/20 campaign, making 31 appearances in all competitions.

‘Bash’, who is in his fourth season with United after joining them from Bidvest Wits in 2016, would have seen his contract with the club expire at the end of the 2019/20 season; however, it was extended for the bio-bubble and is now expected to be extended for the 2020/21 campaign.

Tembo has spoken highly of the Zimbabwean’s leadership role, in mentoring the younger players, and he forms part of a senior group which includes captain Ronwen Williams, Daniels and Bradley Grobler.

The stalwart, who turns 34 this year, is expected to stay with the Tshwane outfit until, at least, 2021 and an announcement by the club is expected in the coming days.
