Zulu offered to Sundowns…

-

Word reaching the Siya crew is that left back Pentjie Zulu has been offered to Mamelodi Sundowns for next season.

The defender still has another year left to run on his existing Black Leopards contract, according to the information made available by sources, so the Brazilians would have to agree to a transfer fee with Lidoda Duvha in order for the player to make the switch to Chloorkop.

Zulu has been one of Leopards’ standout performers during the 2019/20 campaign. He has featured in 31 games in all competitions this season. That means that he missed out on only two fixtures throughout the campaign, and is expected to play a big part if the team’s promotion/ relegation play-offs.

Downs have been active in the transfer market over the past few months, having already added the Bidvest Wits trio of Ricardo Goss, Haashim Domingo and Gift Motupa to their books for next season, while George Maluleka and Lesedi Kapinga arrived as free agents from Kaizer Chiefs and Leopards, respectively.

And indications are that the Tshwane giants are still in the market to bolster Pitso Mosimane’s squad further as they aim to defend the league.

Zulu is understood to be keen on a move to Gauteng and the 30-year-old could end up at Sundowns if the club bites on an offer to get him on their books. According to Siya sources, the defender has been offered to Sundowns, with Leopards looking to cash in on the player before they lose him on a free.

It’s no secret though that Downs’ priority target at the moment is Aubrey Modiba, from SuperSport, with Matsatsantsa CEO Stan Matthews confirming recently that the Brazilians have made a bid to get the versatile player on board.
