CONGRATS, DOWNS!

-

Firstly, congratulations to Mamelodi Sundowns for defending the league title. As the Khosi family, we are a joke. We have to make peace with the fact that the league is gone. The drought continues in our family. I would also like to congratulate George Maluleka, as it seems Sundowns disarmed us by taking him away from us. To Ernst Middendorp and the boys, I am so disappointed and speechless, What remains is the love I have for Amakhosi. I will forever be a Khosi. Luyanda Ntlantsi, Mqanduli

Congratulations to Pitso Mosimane and his team for winning the Absa Premiership title. The arrival of Mosimane at Chloorkop has changed how Sundowns play, with speedy players like Keletso Makgalwa, Promise Mkhuma and Phakamani Mahlambi, who are always chasing for the ball in the opponents’ small box. I had already written Sundowns off when l heard that their hitman, Mauricio Affonso, was stranded in Melo, Uruguay, but coach Pitso and his technical team had other ideas up their sleeve. Tebogo George Senye, Ikhutseng, Warrenton

Congratulations to Mamelodi Sundowns and the entire Ka Bo Yellow Nation for winning the league and achieving ‘La Decima’. Pitso Mosimane is officially the best coach in Mzansi and is truly world-class. In my personal capacity as a Sandawana fan, I bestow the knighthood title upon Pitso and will now officially address him as Sir Pitso. What a gentleman! Abafana Ba Style have really made us proud. May we take this momentum with us into the CAF Champions League and bring a second CAF star. The sky will truly be the limit! Thanks also to our hardworking and appreciative owner and president, Patrice Motsepe, for the contribution he has made to the Masandawana family. Another humble gentleman that. Well done also to Kaizer Chiefs for playing well this entire season and making the league become a hotly contested and competitive race. Thembelani Ngcebetsha, KwaDwesi, Port Elizabeth

What a tough season! Again, I want to say thanks to Mamelodi Sundowns, coach Pitso Mosimane aka Jingles and the entire technical team. I don’t have words to describe what happened. A 13-point gap, but we managed to clinch it 30 minutes to the final whistle. Tough luck to Amakhosi. Try next time. Limukani Monwabisi Mapukane, Langa, Cape Town

Congratulations to the Yellow family as a whole, to the coach, Mr Pitso ‘Jingles ’Mosimane, the technical team, the players and the management, the ever loud and singing supporters who travel all over the country to support this beautiful team. To me, you guys are the best. Second star, wow, wow, wow. Roger Stemele, Alice

It is with great excitement to join in the celebration of achieving ‘La Decima’ under difficult conditions. It should be agreed that playing football after the lockdown was difficult and challenging. With the investment in the team by Dr. Patrice Motsepe, it cannot be true that money does not buy success. Those who doubted Sundowns’ pedigree after competing in the Champions League over four seasons must eat humble pie. We are going to remain humble as we celebrate the achievement knowing that most teams will be coming for us next season. Coach Pitso Mosimane and the technical team have their work cut out in terms of strengthening a welloiled Yellow Machine. More trophies are there for the taking with hard work and commitment. The sky is the limit and we are the champions. Patrick Pilane, Sebokeng

Firstly, I would like to thank the President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe. To Rhulani Mokwena, Manqoba Mngqithi and Pitso Mosimane, I salute you. To all Yellow Nation, I am blessed to be part of you. We will be forever be in the history book. Thanks, Themba “Mshishi” Zwane, for always putting the team first. In you, we trust. I will live to tell my grandkids about the last season under the Absa Premiership banner, for I was a witness to the greatest comeback. As from today, Pitso will be known as “Hlabana bemphika”. Siyabonga Ngubane, via email

While some fans are celebrating Mamelodi Sundowns pipping Kaizer Chiefs to the Absa Premiership title, I am mindful of the fact that in December, when they were leading by 13 points, Chiefs fans said the league was already in Naturena. So, for the 2019/20 season, we had two teams both winning their “championships”. Morongwa Mokgohloa, Ga Mokgohloa

I am a diehard Kaizer Chiefs fan and would like to congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns for winning the league again. Hard luck to Chiefs – it was not meant to be. Sundowns will continue to dominate our league because they have all the quality players they need. They are using money to get money. Any player that coach Pitso Mosimane wants, he gets. Congratulations to them. Let them win everything on offer because they mean business. Their never-say-die attitude is their strength. Those who run family businesses will never win anything because they don’t want to spend money. Neo Mahlangu, Tembisa
