R3 million for Mosele to Pirates?

-

Word reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates are working behind the scenes to conclude a deal with Baroka FC for midfielder Goodman Mosele to join the club at the end of the 2020/21 season, and that a transfer fee is being discussed between the two clubs.

As reported by the Siya crew, Pirates are leading the race to secure the services of one of Mzansi’s hottest young properties, edging their cross-city rivals Kaizer Chiefs. Mosele has also been linked with a move abroad, though Bucs are now closing in on their target.

According to Siya sources, a figure of around R3 million is being discussed for the transfer of the 21-year-old’s signature and, according to the information coming through, it’s a figure that Baroka deem fair.

Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has established himself as a football boss who is open to allowing his players to move on to new opportunities, as was the case with the likes of Gift Motupa and Thabiso Kutumela when they made the switch to Pirates.

And indications are that Mphahlele

is now open to letting Mosele join the Soweto giants.

“A R3 million deal has been discussed for Goodman Mosele to move to Pirates from Baroka. That’s what the parties have spoken about in the past few weeks,” revealed a source.

Mosele made his 22nd league start for Bakgaga in the 1-1 draw against SuperSport United on the weekend as he continues with his impressive campaign, following on from last season where he ended up clinching the PSL Young Player of the Season award.

will be offered to Bucs as an option for their defensive structures.

In the absence of team captain Happy Jele, during certain fixtures, the Buccaneers have turned to Innocent Maela to fill in at central defence, despite being a left back. Furthermore, with Thulani Hlatshwayo, who was signed as a marquee signing from Bidvest Wits at the end of last season, struggling for form, it is believed that Bucs want additional cover at centre-back, and are targeting a senior player who can do the job when called upon.

According to the Siya sources, Nhlapo is one of the players that has been identified as possible cover and will be offered to the Soweto giants. Indications are that if Bucs do pursue Nhlapho, he will come in as cover for Jele and Hlatshwayo and add depth to the squad for their continental exploits.

According to the information made available to the Siya crew, the former Ajax Cape Town player’s contract with the Chilli Boys runs until June of 2022, which means that a transfer fee will be negotiated should Bucs make a move for the player.
