Dolly weighing up offers…

-

Keagan Dolly is understood to be weighing up offers from Japan and Qarabag, though the Siya crew has it on good authority that the player’s preference is to stay in Europe where he has been playing since 2017.

The Bafana Bafana star will enter the final month of his Montpellier contract in June, but indications are that the French Ligue 1 club have not yet engaged Dolly’s camp on a possible extension beyond the current season.

Montpellier seem to have been occupied with trying to secure a coach for the 2021/22 campaign, with reports in France suggesting that manager Michel der Zakarian will be leaving after discussions to retain his services collapsed.

Once that’s been concluded, which now seems as a mere formality, then Montpellier will have to address Dolly’s situation.

Siya sources have informed the crew that the attacker has attracted interest from elsewhere, while there are offers from Japan and Qarabag. Talks, however, have not reached an advanced stage.

At this stage, it is believed that the highly-rated 28-year-old is mulling over possible moves, though he did make it clear last year that he wants to stay in Europe. He has been there for more than four years and is expecting to start a family after it was confirmed that his fiancée is pregnant.

Dolly has also been on Al Ahly’s radar, so there is a possibility that the Egyptian giants could also make a play for his signature should Montpellier not renew his contract.

The Siya crew also understands that the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns star wouldn’t turn down a lucrative offer locally if that door were to open too…

outfit and negotiations are underway, with terms yet to be agreed.

Indications are that the 25-yearold Zimbabwean international will be handed a three-year deal at Chloorkop, joining a top squad of players, where he is expected to receive tougher competition for a regular place in the side.

There is likely to be a two-year option added to his deal with Sundowns, should everything go according to plan, as is the case with most of the top players who sign a contract with the 2016 CAF Champions League winners.

Lunga is seen as someone who can play not only at left back, but as a left-sided central defender too. It is believed that Sundowns are already considering a replacement for Brazilian defender Ricardo Nascimento, who is 34.
