Sundowns and Celtic agree to Ngobeni deal in principle?

-

Siya sources in the know have informed the crew that Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed to a deal in principle for one of the club’s star players.

The Siya crew reported back in April that the Brazilians have been tracking left back Sifiso Ngobeni with the view of adding them to their star-studded roster for the upcoming season.

Ngobeni, 24, has shown that he is one of the brightest talents in the country, putting in some fine displays for the Mangaung outfit. He has made 23 appearances for John Maduka’s side this campaign.

Now, the latest news reaching the crew is that the Brazilians have made headway in their quest to sign the player, with a deal between the two sides all but done.

With the deal having been agreed to in principle, you can expect the player to engage on his personal terms and, if all agreed to, the move will be concluded.

As reported, Celtic have been struggling financially and indications are that the club is open to selling their top players in order to stimulate their coffers with a cash-injection. Should the Ngobeni deal be concluded, it could be the first of several transfers of players heading out from Phunya Sele Sele at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Sundowns currently have Lyle Lakay, Aubrey Modiba and veteran Tebogo Langerman as their left back options and Ngobeni will be competing for the position should the proposed deal be concluded.
