The January transfer window will be an important period for Ivorian player Bangaly Soumahoro, with the player currently in an uncertain situation.

The player, who was not in the plans of Mamelodi Sundowns coming into this season, has been training with the champions’ Tshwane rivals, SuperSport United, hoping to secure himself a move to the club and get his career back on track.

At the time of going to train with SuperSport a few months ago, Bangaly had not been part of the Sundowns first team. He was training away from the first team, after he was unable to secure a move away from Chloorkop before the close of the transfer window period on August 31, 2021.

The Siya crew recently reported that the 30-year-old, who can play in central defence or midfield, sustained a back injury, as confirmed by SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews.

This could have an impact on whether or not Matsatsantsa sign him, as the crew has been led to believe that the player had impressed head coach Kaitano Tembo before the injury affected his progress.

According to the last contract Bangaly had signed with Sundowns, his deal was due to expire at the end of June this year. However, information coming through to the crew is that the big Ivorian was handed his clearance by the Brazilians. Sibanyoni facing Sekhukhune exit door, Downs to decide

The Siya crew has it on good authority that Sekhukhune United are set to part ways with striker Thabang Sibanyoni.

The marksman, who was part of the Bafana Bafana COSAFA-winning squad, has spent the last two seasons on loan with Babina Noko and helped them to DStv Premiership promotion after they were crowned champions in the 2020/21 GladAfrica Championship season.

However, the 25-year-old has largely struggled to replicate his bright form in the topflight. To date, he has made just five appearances for coach MacDonald Makhubedu’s side and is yet to find the back of the net, having found himself slipping further down the pecking order at the club.

The latest news reaching the crew’s desk regarding Sibanyoni is that Sekhukhune have decided to part ways with the lanky striker, who will return to Mamelodi Sundowns, his parent club.

As reported by the crew in December last year, Sibanyoni is a Sundowns player, having come through the club’s youth ranks with the likes of Percy Tau and the late Motjeka Madisha, although he never officially featured for the club’s first team.

According to Siya sources, Downs will look at loaning the player out once again, with Swallows FC touted as a possible destination, with the club already having Jody February, Grant Margeman and Keletso Makgalwa on loan at the Birds.

According to the information made available to the crew, Sibanyoni’s contract with the Brazilians is set to expire in 2023, although the club does have an option to extend it further. y Maluleka option

George Maluleka is heading towards the end of his spell with Mamelodi Sundowns, the Siya crew understands.

After leaving Kaizer Chiefs to join the 12-time PSL champions, Maluleka’s career has gone backwards and he now looks set to leave the club, though that could only be at the end of the season, the crew has established.

The former SuperSport United and Ajax Cape Town midfielder joined the Tshwane giants in the second half of the 2019/20 season on a two-year deal, which is set to expire at the end of June this year.

Sundowns have an option to extend in Maluleka’s contract, but indications are that it’s unlikely to be exercised, with the club keen on bringing in younger midfielders Sipho Mbule and Teboho Mokoena from Tshwane rivals Super

Sport United, as has been reported by the crew over the last week or so.

Age is not on the 33-year-old’s side and Sundowns are believed to be looking at the fact they have younger midfielders who can do the job, with both Mbule and Mokoena both heavily linked with the Chloorkop-based outfit.

So chances of Maluleka playing at the club would be even slimmer, which is why they are unlikely to exercise the option in his deal.

There is a possibility that he could be loaned out before the January transfer window closes, to see out his contract until the end of the season.

Damning bribery allegations at Baroka!

Damning bribery allegations have been levelled against Baroka FC head coach Kgoloko Thobejane and the club’s goalkeeper coach Naughty Lekgau by local football coach and mentor Alpheus Thantsha.

Thantsha has revealed to the Siya crew that he is preparing to take the legal route against Bakgaga as he claims to have lost in the region of R20 000 allegedly to the two coaches.

According to Thantsha, the pair had allegedly promised to have three of his players signed by the Limpopo-based club’s DStv Diski Challenge team if he paid the amount. The alleged incident, according to Thantsha, happened in August, at the time when Thobejane was still with Baroka’s reserve team, before his promotion to the first team as head coach in November.

TheSiyacrewhasseensomeofthe text messages between Thantsha and the two coaches, as well as with club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele, with whom the young coach reported the alleged incident to.

“I would like to report an incident involving bribery and there is all the evidence as the money was sent via a bank and there are messages and everything you need. This involves a coach who is currently involved with a PSL team. He lured three young players into the team and said they should pay to be part of the club’s MDC (DDC) team,” Thantsha alleges.

“He said they should pay an amount over R20 000 and he is now promoted senior team and the boys have since been chased away from the club. The very same coach claimed that the chairman won’t touch him or do anything to him because they are family,” added Thantsha.

The players’ names have been made known to the Siya crew, although their identities cannot be revealed at this stage in fear of jeopardizing their chances of being signed by other clubs as they are currently searching for opportunities.

“The thing is that the coaches told me that the chairman wants players from Limpopo (for the DDC), but since the boys are exceptional, they promised that they would submit an explanation for them to be signed. The coaches came back to me during the trial to inform me that the chairman said it was fine as Lekgau had developed too much interest in the boy who is a goalkeeper.

“Then when I met with coach Thobejane at the grounds, he told chairman, I had to make sure that I gave him ‘something’ before he could consider signing the boys. I asked how much, and he said the best I could give. I was confused as I had been talking more to Lekgau prior to that.

“In the end, we came to a figure of R20 000 which they said was acceptable. I broke a leg to get my hands on the money, gave some cash and with the other amount I used Mr. Lekgau’s bank account,” concluded Thantsha.

Attempts to get comment from the two coaches on the allegations made against them proved unsuccessful at the time of publishing, while the club chairman’s phone rang unanswered.

Baroka team manager Richard Mashabane, meanwhile, was made aware of the allegations against the coaches and was asked to make all those involved also aware, and in his reply, he said, “There’s no comment on this from the coaches.”
