Pirates to send Jooste out on loan?
Due to his lack of regular game-time at Orlando Pirates, Wayde Jooste could be one of the players to be affected by the changes expected to take place at the club when the 2021/22 campaign comes to an end.
Following a successful first season with the Soweto giants, where he made 18 appearances in the league under former coach Josef Zinnbauer and four appearances in the MTN8 as Pirates went on to win the trophy, Jooste has struggled for regular game-time under the current technical team led by co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids.
In huge contrast, he has only made two league appearances this season, to date.
The signing of Bandile Shandu hasn’t helped Jooste in his cause as the Pietermaritzburg-born player has been playing ahead of him and doing well for the team, scoring regularly for the Soweto-based outfit.
As a result, indications are that Bucs could look to send Jooste out on loan next season in order to allow him to get some game-time and to prevent him from getting extremely frustrated by his current situation.
According to sources, the former Highlands Park player could be open to leaving the club to get a regular run elsewhere, should that opportunity be presented to him at the end of the season.
Jooste will be entering the last year of his contract with the Soweto giants next season and the club could offer him elsewhere to rediscover his form, while sources have indicated that his handlers will be assessing their options in search of greener pastures for the versatile player.
