Pirates to add Chabalala in Letsoalo pursuit?

-

Justice Chabalala’s name has come up within the Orlando Pirates corridors as the Soweto giants prioritize the transfer of Victor Letsoalo.

The Royal AM striker is one of the most sought-after players in the PSL at the moment.

He has been linked with a move to both Kaizer Chiefs and Bucs since last season, while SuperSport United recently entered into the mix, with Matsatsantsa monitoring the player’s situation closely.

Letsoalo saw his spell with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit extended in January when the club exercised the option on his contract. The option will see him under contract until June of 2023 and indications are that the player is not keen on signing a new contract with Royal AM.

It is believed that his suitors are aware of the situation, with Bucs now looking to edge their PSL rivals to his signature.

As reported, the Soweto giants have already earmarked Gabadinho Mhango in a proposed swap deal with the Shauwn Mkhize-owned outfit. The Malawian is seemingly no longer in Pirates’ plans and indications are that the club is now willing to add an additional player to sweeten the deal.

The latest news reaching the Siya crew is that Bucs are expected to offer Chabalala as part of a proposed deal in order to secure Letsoalo, in a mega deal that could include two players and cash.

“Justice Chabalala is expected to be offered to Royal AM as Pirates are looking for a possible swap for Victor Letsoalo, who is their target. Pirates are willing to sacrifice two players plus cash to get Letsoalo as the club is keen on reinforcing the striking department for next season,” said a source.

“You must remember that Chabalala previously worked with Royal AM coach John Maduka at Bloemfontein Celtic. The coach would be keen to work with the defender again and a decision is expected to be made at the end of the season,” the source added.
