Galaxy enter chase for Chiefs’ Zuma

-

Kaizer Chiefs winger Dumisani Zuma has another club monitoring him closely as the doubt surrounding his future with the Soweto giants increases.

Throughout his stay with the Soweto giants, since joining the club from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2017, Zuma has struggled to cement his place within the first team. He did show signs of promise at times, though grappled with consistency.

Last year, the player was in the news for the wrong reasons, after he was suspended by the Naturena-based outfit for alleged misconduct after he was arrested in Sandton for alleged drunken driving.

However, indications are that he has moved on since then and is looking to get his professional career back on track. In fact, insiders have revealed that the 26-year-old is looking sharp at training.

Stuart Baxter, however, has opted against playing him. Zuma is yet to feature in any matches for Chiefs under the English mentor this season.

With his future looking increasingly in doubt at Naturena, TS Galaxy have entered the chase in pursuit of Zuma’s signature after the club lost the services of Mxolisi Macuphu, who joined Royal AM in January, as well as Ghanaian international Mohammed Anas, who signed for Jordanian outfit Al-Wehdat, as reported by the Siya crew.

Galaxy are believed to be under pressure to strengthen their striking department as Nigerian Augustine Kwem is the only high-profile marksman on the club’s books at the moment.

The Pietermaritzburg-born player has been strongly linked with a move to AmaZulu in recent times, while he was also touted for a move to Stellenbosch FC.

As reported at the time, the Glamour Boys had identified Ashley Du Preez as a target and were looking to offer Zuma in a proposed swap deal. Nothing, however, materialised from the proposed swap deal.

It now remains to be seen where Zuma’s future lies. What is for certain is that there is interest in the talented player.
