WHY NTSHUMAYELO FLEW OUT OF BIRDS NEST

-

Swallows coach Dylan Kerr has given some insight into the departure of midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo at the club.

As previously reported by the Siya crew, Ntshumayelo is no longer with the Dube Birds, after his season-long deal expired at the end of July. There was an option to extend the deal for another campaign, but the Soweto outfit decided against keeping the former Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United midfielder, who is now on the hunt for a new club.

“Bibo… look, it’s not nice. I’ve been in the position four times where I’ve had injuries and I got released as a player. It’s not nice, but there comes a point where you need to make the club attractive to new players. You try to freshen things up and I always say that I’ve got a jigsaw puzzle and I need to fit pieces nicely. You can’t fit a piece that does not fit, no matter how much you try banging and twisting it in. If it does not fit, it does not fit,” Kerr told Soccer Laduma.

“I think we’ve made some good and honest signings, but time will tell and what a game to start the season against Orlando Pirates,” added Kerr.

During his time with the Dube Birds, the 32-year-old Ntshumayelo made just two appearances, both as a substitute, against Sekhukhune United and Royal AM.
