SWALLOWS TO WIN RACE FOR MSENGI
Former Stellenbosch FC and Cape Town Spurs midfield sensation Ally Msengi is expected to seal a deal to the Premier Soccer League ahead of the 2022/23 season, the Siya crew has been informed.
Msengi has been a free agent since parting ways with Cape Town Spurs at the end of last season. He joined the club in February this year but did not make a single appearance for coach
Shaun Bartlett’s side.
Despite his lack of action for the Cape outfit, interest in the Tanzania international’s services remained rife, with a number of top-flight clubs keeping their eye on his situation.
The latest news reaching Soccer Laduma is that the 20-year-old midfielder is closing in on a deal with Swallows FC, who are understood to have won the race for his signature.
According to Siya sources, the finer details of the deal are still to be ironed out – however, Msengi is expected to turn out for coach Dylan Kerr’s side next season.
The former Stellies player made 29 appearances in three seasons for the Cape winelands outfit, having made his debut for the club at age 18. He was also previously a first-team regular for KMC in Tanzania, during which time he attracted interest from Belgium.
