Sithebe finally joins

-

The first addition that was sewn up was that of Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu FC. Kaizer Chiefs agreed a pre-contract with him in January and that led to Usuthu completely sidelining him for the second half of last season. Benni McCarthy was eager to select the player but had his hands tied by chairman Sandile Zungu. He is naturally a central midfielder who brings energy and work-rate to that part of the pitch. At the Durban-based outfit, he played an interesting role under McCarthy. He often lined up in a double pivot, with Xola Mlambo as a number 10. When the latter dropped deep to aid the build-up, Sithebe would swap places with him and get into forward areas. In an ideal scenario, the dreadlocked schemer looks most suited to playing in a midfield three as a number eight. It remains to be seen if he will play deeper in a midfield two or even in a narrow role on the right flank. The supporters should enjoy watching him play and he will boost options and depth but may not be a certain starting player.
