MTSHALI FINDS NEW HOME AFTER CHIPPA EXIT

-

After parting ways with Chippa United at the end of last season, Ayanda Mtshali has found a new home with Cape Town All Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Mtshali, 34, did not have his contract renewed with the Chilli Boys when it expired in June, with the former Bloemfontein Celtic player having been with the Eastern Cape club since 2020.

Chippa had initially planned to part ways with the short-stopper at the end of his first season with them, after the short-term deal he signed expire. However, the arrival of then coach Gavin Hunt handed him a lifeline as the mentor was happy to have him in his squad.

Following the switch to Igugu

Lekapa for Morgan Mammila, who had been the general manager and assistant coach at Chippa, the official has now lured Mtshali to the second-tier outfit as one of the team’s goalkeepers.

Mtshali made 10 appearances for Chippa last season before he was dropped from matchday squads as Namibian international Llodt Kazapuwa took over as the club’s number one.

“Ayanda Mtshali will appear in the colours of Cape Town All Stars in the new season. His move to the club has been agreed to by all the parties and he has joined as a free agent after leaving Chippa United. Mammila played a role in the player joining All Stars and the player’s experience will play a role as the team will be pushing for promotion this season,” said a source.
