“Infrastructure is the bottom line. Kaizer Chiefs have probably one of the best set-ups in the country if you look at what the Village looks like. It’s a great facility that is conducive to doing the right things, from the first team down to the juniors. To have all of that is really great.

“If you look at any other club, the academy team trains in a different place to the senior team. Chiefs pretty much have everything under one roof and that helps them because there is a close relation between the academy and the first team.

“To pair that, they have also got great coaches. They have invested heavily in terms of their personnel. If you look at the likes of Molefi Ntseki that has been brought in, Vela Khumalo… these are top coaches. I mean, they have a former Bafana Bafana coach running the academy as head of development.

“They have got the right people in the right areas in terms of their development. You also have someone like Ace Khuse, who is a scout. They went all around the country to find top talent.”
