Bvuma passes to Zitha Kwinika at left centre-back as Shalulile makes up a big distance to put pressure on him. At this stage, Sirino is a long way from being able to join Shalulile in pressing and Zwane is also a long way off Yusuf Maart, who has dropped into the number six role to be an option.

The key mistake on this goal was Kwinika deciding to make a 15-yard sideways pass to Siyabonga Ngezana and a bobbling pass at that, lacking pace. It takes a number of touches for Ngezana to bring the bouncing ball under control and that leads him to under-hit the back pass and Sirino pouncing to score. What Kwinika should have done is use Bvuma once Shalulile closed him down. With Maart free, Bvuma had an easy pass into the number six, who would be able to turn and play forward. Once Ngezana does get the ball, Maart is still an option and is seen waving his arms to call for the pass. Ngezana isn’t aware enough of Sirino and could have turned outwards and used the dropping Alexander too to get himself out of trouble.

Whilst Ngezana gets slammed for this goal, and rightfully so, he was given a hospital pass, which was bouncing awkwardly, by his centre-back partner. The bigger error is Kwinika not using Bvuma and then quickly opening up to increase the
