Saleng in limbo, Swallows keen?

-

According to Siya sources, Swallows FC could be open to the return of Monnapule Saleng to the club given that his Orlando Pirates future looks uncertain.

The former Free State Stars attacker joined the Buccaneers last season and immediately moved to the Dube Birds on loan, where he impressed under coach Dylan Kerr following a slow start initially.

Saleng played 29 times for the Birds, a good indicator that he was part of the core team, and it would have made sense to retain him permanently.

But he returned to Pirates in the off-season hoping to impress, especially following the club’s decision to bring in a new coach in Jose Riveiro.

While some players have clearly been given a new lease on life, like right back Thabiso Monyane, this hasn’t been the case for Saleng.

The Siya crew understands that his camp is actively looking at options should it become clear that Riveiro has no plans in his squad for the speedy player this season – and with the Buccaneers not involved in CAF tournaments, this is highly likely.

Saleng then has until September 22, when the transfer window officially slams shut, to try make a move to a club that could offer him regular game-time.
