COLUMNISTS GET THUMBS UP POETIC JUSTICE?
After reading Vuyani Joni’s column last week, I then realised that the Soccer Laduma editor is one of the most interesting characters in our football. His thought-provoking column was well-written and contained sound and practical advice without taking sides. The man is open on everything. Moving on, 95% of action from our players is wasted effort that doesn’t lead to anything substantial. From passing to dribbling, to attempting to defend or score a goal, everything is just an error waiting to happen. Sirino is a marvel to watch with his world-class passes and movement off the ball. He is 10 players in one. Why was he substituted on the weekend? “Bhotsotso” Mkhize, Eshowe, Mpaphala, KZN
Last week’s Editor’s column refers. In life, we have good and bad things happening and players are human beings too. They need to be respected. They do make mistakes and, with the help of us fans, they will recover soon. Booing players in 2022, I think it’s a barbaric act and such hooligans are not welcomed in this Beautiful Game of soccer. Let’s root this out of our football. Danny “Madeenzo” Moreo, Segakwana Village, Moruleng
Thanks, VeeJay and Doctor Khumalo, for your columns. I couldn’t have asked for better columns to read. You are always spot-on, gentlemen, and after reading your offerings, I sometimes put myself in the shoes of the current professional footballers in the PSL. I am sure it is hard for these guys, and I wish our players can learn from the mistakes of their predecessors. But once again, Doc and VeeJay, thanks very much, guys. Keep on feeding us that information. Mompati Panyaza Ndlovu, Lekubu village, Zeerust
I think Justice Chabalala is a confused player. Sorry to say that, but I don’t really understand him. He said he didn’t see it coming that Orlando Pirates would let him go, yet every time when the season started, they let him go out on loan. He was never part of Bucs’ plans, but he said he is surprised by the team’s decision. A good relationship with the chairman does not mean a thing if you are not valuable to the team. It was clear that one day they’d let you go. Concentrate on your new team and move on. On another note, thank you very much, Sekhukhune United, for bringing Mamelodi Sundowns from the sky down to mother earth. You gave them a good game, pound for pound. To them, that’s a loss… to you, an achievement. Nyambeni Samson Khuphani,
