Dzvukamanja next to leave Pirates?
With the transfer window extended in the Premier Soccer League, it is expected that striker Terrence Dzvukamanja could use the remaining few weeks before the registration period closes to assess his options.
The Orlando Pirates forward is yet to make a single appearance for the club this season under coach Jose Riveiro, despite featuring 35 times in all competitions during the previous campaign when Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi were co-coaches.
According to Siya sources, it has become apparent that Dzvukamanja might not be in Riveiro’s plans considering that even when games came thick and fast during the first month of the new campaign, he was not used.
Pirates have four other strikers in Eva Nga, Kwame Peprah, Zakhele Lepasa and Evidence Makgopa, ahead in the pecking order… so there are concerns from Dzvukamanja’s camp that he isn’t likely to move up the list soon.
The PSL has confirmed that the transfer window will slam shut on September 22, which allows the Zimbabwean a few more weeks to find an alternative solution to what is set to be a frustrating season if he does not leave.
Dzvukamanja joined the Buccaneers in a three-year deal from Bidvest Wits shortly after the Clever Boys had their top-flight status dramatically sold in 2020 and almost the entire team dismantled in one go.
Now, the striker has one more season left on his contract and will be in a position to sign a pre-contract in January with another club of his choice.
The Siya crew, however, understands that Dzvukamanja is keen on game-time now.
