AGENT’S PROMISE AFTER THUSI DEAL…

-

Local football agent Sipho Shaven is aiming to help more female footballers from Mzansi to earn deals abroad after he recently facilitated the move for Bongiwe Thusi from Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies to Malabo Kings FC in Equatorial Guinea.

Slender, as the Tembisa-born attacking midfielder is known in football circles, was one of the influential players in Downs’ team that won the SASOL Women’s National League, in 2013 and 2015 respectively, and the Hollywoodbets Super League three times in succession, as well as last year’s first ever CAF Women’s Champions League.

Having impressed Kings with her performance against them in the semi-final of the continental competition, Thusi has been snapped up by the club to further her career abroad.

“I can confirm that we did the deal for Bongiwe Thusi to Malabo Kings FC. She did well while at Sundowns and played in the Champions League last season. We are happy for her and are wishing her everything of the best.

“This move is a step in the right direction for her and it is more proof that women’s football is growing and one thing I can tell you is that South African female footballers are in demand abroad. This is something very good for the ladies and as one of the people involved, I am happy for them,” said Shaven.

“I have built a very strong relationship with the club (Kings), and we will be moving more players there soon. The plan is for even male footballers from South Africa to be moved there in future,” the intermediary added.
