A WORRYING FACTOR!

-

I’m not a regular contributor to MAKE YOUR POINT, but I’m an ardent reader of Soccer Laduma and a big fan of this page. In last week’s edition, there were only 16 letters published, far less than usual, and I ask myself what the problem could be (Ed’s note: Space reasons). Secondly, the number of overseas returnees is a worrying factor. Our players seem to return home quicker than expected after having one bad season abroad. I still think that the likes of Andile Jali, Bongani Zungu, Keagan Dolly and Percy Tau should have stayed much longer abroad. None of the above-mentioned players were over 30 when they returned home. The more we have players in Europe, the more our national team will be a force to be reckoned with on the continent. Even the so-called players’ agents should be held accountable. How do you send a player of Fagrie Lakay’s quality to Egypt when you could have easily sent him to Belgium, Denmark or Portugal? I still think it’s career suicide for the boy.
