SEEMA EMERGES AS CANDIDATE FOR GALLANTS
Former Golden Arrows coach Lehlohonolo Seema has emerged as a candidate for a coaching role at Marumo Gallants.
Seema has been unattached since parting ways with Abafana Bes’thende in April. Having joined Arrows in July last year, he led the KwaZulu-Natal side to eight wins, 11 draws and nine losses from 28 matches before he was replaced with Vusumuzi Vilakazi and Mabhudi Khenyeza.
Siya sources have now confirmed that the 42-year-old mentor has been offered to Gallants, who are expected to make adjustments to their technical team in the coming weeks.
As revealed by the Siya crew, Frenchman Romain Folz, who has been in charge at the Limpopobased outfit as head coach, resigned on the weekend citing interference from management.
Raymond Mdaka, who has been an assistant to Folz, has been elevated to the position of head coach, while indications from sources close to the club are that the management are keen to make amendments to their technical team for the season.
“Lehlohonolo Seema is one of the candidates for the coaching role at Marumo Gallants. The coach is available, and contact has been made with the club about him possibly joining the team, but it is still early days,” said a source.
The former Orlando Pirates defender has previously held coaching roles at Chippa United, Black Leopards and Bloemfontein Celtic, and has made notable progress in his coaching career in recent years.
