Dube rejects Chiefs’ proposed loan exit

-

Austin Dube still hasn’t featured for Kaizer Chiefs this season, but the Siya crew has been led to believe the player has so far rejected a loan move to his old club.

Soccer Laduma reported recently that Richards Bay FC showed the desire to reunite with the defender given that it was clear his gametime at Naturena would be limited following the arrival of Zitha Kwinika and the fact that coach Arthur Zwane clearly prefers to pair him up with Siyabonga Ngezana.

Chiefs also still have Njabulo Ngcobo, and it appears those are the three central defenders ahead in the pecking order at the club.

Dube was then presented with an option to move back to KwaZulu-Natal, but as things stand, the player has turned down that opportunity.

Indications are that with the transfer window set to close on September 22, anything can happen, especially with the defender clearly out in the cold in what is a complete contrast to his debut season at the Soweto giants.

The 29-year-old joined Amakhosi at the beginning of last season from Richards Bay, who were then still campaigning in the GladAfrica Championship (now Motsepe Foundation Championship) in a cash transfer.

He made 16 league appearances for the Glamour Boys.

With the Natal Rich Boys promoted, they have beefed up their squad and were keen on Dube returning on loan, but Soccer Laduma has been informed that he is not keen.

But watch this space, there’s still two weeks of the window remaining.
