A FEW SUGGESTIONS

We’ve been getting more members for our Soccer Laduma readers’ WhatsApp group, which is a good thing. Though sometimes we agree to disagree, we’re happy to teach each other about the Beautiful Game. For example, I was scrutinised for omitting certain players from my Team of the Month in issue 1289.

Even though some felt the selections were okay, some thought otherwise, even going on to suggest that I might have been assisted by Hugo Broos, who always leaves deserving players out of his squad. I now understand the pressure coaches face when selecting the team. We need to accept that not all players can be selected at once. I also challenge fellow readers to start watching as many games as possible so that we can come up with different teams for Team of the Month. Lastly, to add to what Lekiya Magoai said when suggesting a readers’ column, I too suggest a column by an ex-pro referee such as Ace Ncobo, where we can be educated about the Laws of the Game, especially after what happened during Sundowns v SuperSport and Stellenbosch FC v Chiefs MTN8
