Ngobeni to stay at Sundowns?

-

Word reaching the Siya crew is that Mamelodi Sundowns will let left back Sifiso Ngobeni stay with the team to see what more he can offer this season.

The Mamelodi-born player was given his first appearance of the season in the Tshwane giants’ 2-1 victory over Golden Arrows over the past weekend and indica-tions are that the technical team believe that he has what it takes to compete with the likes of Aubrey Modiba and Lyle Lakay for a place in the team.

The club has been deliberating on whether Ngobeni should go out on loan again or spend the season fighting for a spot in the team, and it appears they are in favour of him remaining at Chloorkop, at least until the next transfer window.

Ngobeni was with SuperSport United, on loan, for the second half of last season and did well while he was there.

According to information received by Soccer Laduma, the 25-year-old has been working hard in training to raise his hand for a place in the starting line-up, hence the decision to reward him with a start against Abafana Bes’thende over the weekend.

“As it stands, it looks like he will stay. But we will see how it goes,” a well-placed source informed the crew.
