SuperSport still mulling over Jooste

-

Word reaching the Siya crew is that SuperSport United are still considering signing Wayde Jooste, but the problem remains with the financial side of things.

Jooste has been training with the Tshwane side after leaving Orlando

Pirates and head coach Gavin Hunt is believed to be convinced that the player would add val-ue to the team.

SuperSport, however, have raised concern over their budget and, after bringing in Siphesihle Ndlovu on a one-year deal from Pirates, the decision to sign Jooste could drag on a little longer.

Matsatsantsa have relied on promoting a lot of their youngsters over the last few years and have spent less time trying to get big-name players in the transfer mar-ket.

With Hunt at the helm, they have gone into the market, but it’s unlikely that the club will keep digging into the cheque book to bring in more players, as they believe that they have enough youngsters to at least challenge for a Top Eight position this season.

A decision on Jooste will soon be announced by the club.

The 30-year-old player was recently part of South Africa’s CHAN squad for the qualifiers and got some valuable game-time under his belt and will now be hoping he can find himself a new home to keep playing competitive football.

SuperSport, meanwhile, also have former Liverpool youth team player

Stephen Sama at training. A decision on whether or not he will be signed is also expected to be made soon.
