Sama offered to Chiefs

Stephen Sama, the Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund academy product, is no longer training with Mamelodi Sundowns and has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs, the Siya crew has been informed.

Amakhosi, though, are not the only option for the former English League One de-fender, with SuperSport United also a possibilit­y for him.

In fact, the 29-year-old recently trained with SuperSport after he was initially assessed by Tshwane rivals Sundowns. Matsatsant­sa head coach Gavin Hunt is understood to have liked what he has seen in the defender and a decision will be made.

With Chiefs struggling at the back early on in the season, the crew has been informed that Sama has been offered to the Soweto giants, though there is nothing concrete on the table as yet.

“There might be an option there at Chiefs, but there is nothing confirmed yet. I know that Gavin does like him at SuperSport, so it will be between the two clubs,” a wellplaced source told Soccer Laduma.

An insider at Sundowns told the crew that he would not be signed.

“He is no longer training because they have a foreign issue. The club won’t be signing him,” the source stated.

Sama, who was born in Cameroon, is an experience­d campaigner, having played in Germany, the Netherland­s and England. He has also played for Germany at junior internatio­nal level, playing for the U17s, U18s, U19s and U20s. push a couple of deals over the line by bringing additional personnel to Naturena while releasing a few more.

Newly-signed Burundian striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyiman­a certainly hit the ground running against SuperSport United last week, easing the nerves of Amakhosi faithful with a glimpse of what he could offer the long-suffering fans.

The Siya crew has been informed that Chiefs want to add another striker to their roster to complement Bimenyiman­a up front and finally become serious contenders for the league championsh­ip.

At the same time, the crew has gathered additional informatio­n within the camp that the club is working feverishly to loan out promising 22-year old central midfielder Sabelo Radebe and defender Austin Dube.

The latter has found himself way down the pecking order under coach Arthur Zwane, but while newly-promoted Richards Bay FC have expressed interest in signing the player on loan, the defender has reportedly rejected their advances.

According to Siya sources, Dube wants to stay and fight for a position in the starting XI following the departure of Daniel Cardoso, with Erick Mathoho also dropping down the line, while Siyabonga Ngezana has not exactly covered himself in glory thus far this season.
