Despite the club exercising the option in his contract earlier this year, the Siya crew has been informed that Cape Town City are willing to listen to offers for striker Mogamat May.

Back in April, this publication reported that City had decided that they would hold onto the former Hanover Park striker, who penned a short-term deal until the end of the 2021/22 season, for a further two years.

With the decision to exercise the option on May’s contract, it meant that he was set to continue with the Citizens until June 2024.

However, indications are that the club are willing to listen to offers for the Ajax Cape Town youth product.

Soccer Laduma understands that May has fallen down the pecking order at the club with the addition of Wayde Lakay, with word from sources in the know being that another striker could be on his way to the club.

The club has also promoted Ashley Nel and Luke Daniels from their DStv Diski Challenge side.

The crew reached out to the player’s representative, Ashley Rasool of Lion Sports Management, although he was not available for comment at the time of print.

The striker incredibly managed 13 goals and seven assists in nine appearances in the SAB League prior to joining City, although he is yet to find the back of the net in 12 appearances so far. He has featured just once for coach Eric Tinkler’s side this campaign.

It remains to be seen if the Citizens manage to offload the player before the transfer window slams shut on 22 September.
