FOLZ’S NAME THROWN INTO THE SWALLOWS HAT?

-

Former Marumo Gallants head coach Romain Folz has been added to list of prospective coaches to take over the vacant head coach role at Swallows FC, the Siya crew has been informed.

Following the dismissal of coach Dylan Kerr, who parted ways with the club after a string of disappointing results, a number of names have been bandied about with regards to who would be leading the Soweto giants in their next chapter.

Fadlu Davids and Ernst Middendorp have been heavily touted with moves to the Birds, though both are unlikely to take the role. However, Soccer Laduma has established via reliable sources that Folz is amongst those vying for the job.

The 32-year-old has been without a job since unceremoniously parting ways with Gallants earlier this month in what was a short and ill-fated spell with the team from Polokwane, which lasted all of three months. Despite his young age, Folz is vastly experienced having enjoyed stints in Botswana with Township Rollers, in Ghana with Ashanti Gold, in France Ligue 2 with Chamois Niort, where he was an assistant coach, as well as in Egypt where he worked with Pyramids FC.

As reported by the crew, Folz is keen on remaining in Mzansi, although it now remains to be seen whether Swallows chairman David Mogashoa decides to appoint the Frenchman as the club’s new head

coach or if he takes a different approach in the coming weeks.
