Quick One-Two’s
No team is consistent. There are certain teams playing with a low block in defence just to earn a point. Look at Sekhukhune, they played one of the best games against the Pirates, only to be beaten by SuperSport. After the MTN8 first leg quarterfinals, the talk of the town was that Pirates will be league contenders. But
the same Pirates earned only four points out of a possible 12 in the last four games. There are still lots of coaches who are going to lose their jobs due to inconsistent results. Even if clubs can use terms like amicable agreement, personal reasons or special leave, the fact remains he is fired. There are a lot of coaches waiting in the wings for employment. Game after game, you see the likes of Ertugral and Middendorp in the stands. Any coach is as good as his last game. Gavin Ryan, Emalahleni
Just when I thought Pirates had turned the corner after an impressive performance against Downs, my team decided to resort to mediocrity again. One wonders what must be done to ensure the team operates like a well-oiled machine, because if the current indifferent performance continues, winning silverware is a pipedream. It’s frustrating when a big team like Bucs fails to kill games when it matters most. Maybe my team is not yet prepared to be competitive and less must be expected from them. Anyway, once a Pirate, always a Pirate. Thapelo Masiapata, Ramaroka village
Let me congratulate Hunt on the job he’s doing at SuperSport. Two wins in a row is a very good. Seems to me Hunt understand the team better. I know some will say at Chiefs they did not buy him quality players, but even if they did, he’d not have done as well as he’s doing at SuperSport. Lastly, what a beautiful goal from Gabuza – a rocket. Nyambeni Samson Khuphani, Tshiawelo Ext 5
Sundowns started their CAF Champions League campaign on a good note. I’m, however, disappointed with Cape Town City’s result. I thought with Tinkler’s experience, the team would play well at home. I wish SA teams can take this competition seriously as this will help our football and the national team. Terah Maqepula, Mount Fletcher
