Chiefs to go the Sithebe route?

-

Chiefs could look to follow a similar route to the one they took when they signed Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu to bring Mmodi on board. In January, they signed the dreadlocked player on a pre-contract when he entered the last six months of his deal with Usuthu. Although the move did not sit well with the management of the KZN-based side, after the midfielder spent the entire second round of 2021/22 frozen out, the Soweto giants did have the last say as the player eventually made the switch. While at times it might seem to be difficult for Chiefs to successfully negotiate a deal for a transfer target when the selling club is involved, they’ve proved to know their way around getting their man when no club is involved. With Mmodi set to be eligible to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice, the Naturena-based outfit could use the opportunity to sign him for next season.
