Mamelodi Sundowns are showing interest in South African U20 midfielder Lindokuhle Mbutho with a view to lure him to Chloorkop, the Siya crew has learnt.

Mbutho has grown in leaps and bounds in his development over the years, having graduated from Amajimbos to Amajita and being touted as one of Mzansi’s future stars. He previously played for Highlands Park’s juniors and has been training with Swallows FC’s DStv Diski Challenge team in recent weeks.

According to a close source, the player has impressed the scouts from Downs, who are believed to be keen to lure him to Chloorkop for further development and to prepare him for the first team. As confirmed by the source, the Brazilians are joined in their interest in the 19-yearold holding midfielder by Motsepe Foundation Championship side University of Pretoria, who are keen to further strengthen their squad for their topflight promotion push.
