Blom offered to SuperSport… no Chiefs deal yet?

-

With no official news yet from the Kaizer Chiefs camp regarding the status of midfielder Njabulo Blom’s contract, the Siya crew has been led to believe that the player has been offered to DStv Premiership rivals SuperSport United.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, there has been an impasse between Amakhosi and the player’s representatives – and his agent Rob Moore recently came out publicly to reveal that the hold-up was about Blom’s proposed package.

“I think he’s in a situation where he can’t make that decision because the financial component is not where it should be, and therefore, I would imagine that he feels undervalued. That probably doesn’t give him a great feeling at this point in time,” Moore said, in part, during an interview on Metro FM last month.

Chiefs haven’t given an update on a new deal so far, but coach Arthur Zwane has restored Blom to the starting line-up and reiterated the utility player remains an integral part of the young squad at Naturena.

What has now emerged, according to reliable Siya sources, is that Blom has been presented to SuperSport in unofficial discussions… potentially as a free agent at the end of the season given that Amakhosi are unlikely to sell him.

The 22-year-old can sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice in January and leave Chiefs without a transfer fee six months later, but it is understood that the Glamour Boys aren’t simply going to roll over and let one of their academy graduates leave under such acrimonious circumstances.
