Has the derby lost its spark?

Gavin Ryan was the first to heed my call for contributions and sharing information on this platform when he wrote in about the “save of the week” from SuperSport United’s Ricardo Goss away to Stellenbosch FC last week. It is a plus for any team to have a goalkeeper like Goss, who is not only about reflexes but the decision-making, which makes the former work.

He had decided to go to the left and then saw the ball go to his right and changed his mind by stretching his leg to make that save. The mental factor, in terms of decision-making, made it possible for the reflex to work out perfectly. The technique he used to avoid conceding a goal was unbelievable. Some goalkeepers are not agile enough to turn mid-move and execute a reflex.
