Agent coy on Pule’s Pirates future

-

The Siya crew reported last month that, according to reliable sources, Vincent Pule is expected to remain at Orlando Pirates beyond the current season with indications that the option on his contract will be triggered.

Pule joined the Buccaneers on a free transfer from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2018 and has become a key figure at the club. So with his initial deal coming to an end, there have been questions over whether Pirates will act quickly.

Soccer Laduma asked the player’s agent, Basia Michaels of QT Sport, for comment on the latest regarding her client’s future.

“Look, these matters are best left to the clubs to discuss and give updates where necessary. Obviously, Vincent has been an important player since joining them and when the time allows, I am sure Pirates will communicate,” she explained.

Pressed on whether there has been any interest elsewhere for Pule’s services seeing as he had been linked to Kaizer Chiefs in the past, Michaels was quick to shut that down.

“No, he is happy at Pirates and he is still their player,” the agent added.

The current 2022/23 season has not been the best for Pule due to niggling injuries that have kept him out of the squad, only allowing him to make nine appearances under coach Jose Riveiro prior to the MTN8 final this weekend.

Although the return of Monnapule Saleng to the side means Pule has stiff competition, there is nothing that suggests he is on his way out… the Siya crew being informed, as previously reported, that the player is expected to be at Pirates at least until June 2024.
