SSU SET TO EXTEND DITLHOKWE’S CONTRACT

-

The Siya crew has been led to believe that SuperSport United are set to extend the contract of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, with his contract coming to an end in June 2023.

The Botswana national team captain has proven to be one of Gavin Hunt’s key men at the back, playing 13 matches for the side thus far.

Ditlhokwe, a former Township Rollers player, has built a solid partnership with Thulani Hlatshwayo and is one of the players who have played every single minute in the DStv Premiership this season.

The 24-year-old joined SuperSport in January 2020 from Rollers, penning a three-and-a-half-year contract at the time. Now he is in the final year of his deal and Soccer Laduma understands that SuperSport are keen on holding onto the player, especially with age still on his side.

SuperSport have sold some of their best players in recent seasons, but club CEO Stan Matthews recently told the Siya crew that they will be announcing new sponsorship deals in the coming months to ensure they do not lose their finest talents to Premiership rivals.

“We will be announcing new sponsorships in the coming months and that will assist us to hold on to our best talent for a while longer before the Big Three come hunting,” Matthews said a few weeks ago.

At 24, Ditlhokwe still has so much more to offer, and SuperSport will be aware of the fact that his performances will attract the attention of clubs in the topflight.
