Chiefs lead AmaZulu in Ngema chase?

-

News reaching the Siya crew is that Kaizer Chiefs are leading AmaZulu FC in the chase for Marumo Gallants midfielder Celimpilo Ngema’s signature.

As reported by the Siya crew, Ngema has attracted interest from both Amakhosi and Usuthu as Gallants are set to lose out on another top midfielder, following Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo’s move to Orlando Pirates in September.

Ngema, 25, has been impressive for the Limpopo-based side and instrumental in the team’s revival under Dan Malesela, and while the player’s former coach Romain Folz is reportedly keen on luring him to AmaZulu, the Durbanbased club is facing competition from the Soweto giants, who are keen to strengthen the team as recently confirmed by head coach Arthur Zwane.

Ngema’s contract with Gallants is set to expire in June, which means that in January he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice as he enters into the last six months of his current deal.

And indications from sources in the know are that Chiefs are leading the race for the attacking midfielder’s services.

“Chiefs are wanting to bring Ngema on board. Chiefs are serious and at this point are leading. He is seen as a creative midfielder who has the ability to create and score goals, which is what they might be missing,” said a source.

“AmaZulu are also keeping an eye on Ngema, although his current club still has time to persuade him to sign a new contract. His contract expires at the end of season and Gallants will have to convince him to commit before January to avoid the risk of him leaving for free,” concluded the source.
