SOME FEEDBACK

-

Walter Rautmann is behaving like a bitter exprofessional. How can someone in his position utter a statement like that about a fellow professional? To say Mammila is taking chances as a coach is both upsetting and disrespectful irrespective of the coach’s qualifications. The football fraternity is aware of Rautmann’s record in coaching and gave him credit, yet he can’t do the same to others. Comparing his time then and now simply means he is still stuck because football has changed a lot. Mammila is right in saying Rautmann has never won anything except helping teams escape relegation, so he should give credit where it’s due. Mammila has done extremely well since taking over at Chippa and that’s a fact. I expect such utterances from us fans because we’ve never been to that professional set-up. Walter must just accept that his time has passed – the sooner, the better. Let me part on a positive note and congratulate our archrivals Pirates for winning the MTN8. Looking at the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings in edition 1298 of Soccer Laduma, it gives one the idea that although we have an open race in the second tier of South African football, Hungry Lions, Tuks and Polokwane City will vie for automatic promotion and the two play-offs spots. This leads me to the opinion that it’s about time a team from the Northern Cape gets into the elite league. Truth be told, the Northern Cape is always sucking the last spoon of opportunities to the football fraternity and having a team in the elite league will automatically bring hope to an area invisible to the rest of Mzansi.
