UP THE BUCCANEERS!

-

We don’t care much about the bragging rights of the Soweto Derby, we had that in the past. All we wanted most was the MTN8 trophy, and that is in the bag now. Well done, and Saleng, you keep on shining. Special mention to Timm, Ndah, Xoki, Monyane, Sibisi, Ofori and the rest of the team. My coach, Riveiro, in you I trust. Ncikazi, thank you for supporting the vision of the coach. There are no signs of jealousy from you. Your time will come again. Phakama Mz’omnyama! Up the Bucs. Thokozane Dludlu, Emalahleni

After a very difficult week after losing the Soweto Derby, Pirates were able to redeem themselves against AmaZulu FC. A very difficult game against stubborn Usuthu considering the numerous challenges that the Buccaneers had to face during the game. Just imagine your pillar of strength at the back getting injured so early in the game. Sibisi’s injury was a big blow to the Soweto giants, but the whole team was focused and kept the shape nicely. Timm and Motshwari were solid in the middle, while Ndah and Xoki were also tight. Tactically, Pirates were superior and the formation was fruitful. In the second half, AmaZulu came out firing on all cylinders. I think Riveiro’s charges defended early and brought the Durban-based side back into the game. We give thanks to the entire team as we were in pain last weekend, plus our cabinet has been dry. At least we can a breathe a fresh air of championship. The current crop of players have written their own history considering it’s almost a totally new team. Great goal by Saleng. Halala Buccaneers! Madimetja Vic Mashamaite, Renstown

Who’s the plumber now? I’m asking Pirates fans. When coach Riveiro arrived in Houghton, he was given the name “plumber”, given the fact he did not win anything where he comes from. Thanks to the coach. He made all Pirates fans eat humble pie. Watch out, the coach can go and win the Carling Black Label Cup and the Nedbank Cup. Nyambeni Samson Khuphani, Tshiawelo Ext 5

Congrats to Pirates for winning the MTN8. You guys deserve it and this victory must spur you on to really go on the offensive and chase the remaining cups on offer. You already had a successful 2022/23 by annexing this very same competition. Indeed, it’s true that he who laughs last laughs the loudest. Just a week ago, Chiefs won “three points worth a cup” and the entire country was in celebration mode. Saleng actually didn’t want to perform against Chiefs because he was saving his best for last. Wait a minute, did we win the real MTN8 cup? I am just checking because I remember clearly the three coaches at Sundowns said they were going to just pitch up and win all the competitions this season. So, somebody out there please verify for me if we’ve won the real thing. Since we are in a jubilant mood, let’s let chiefs get free quarts of Carling Black Label. They can’t afford Tanqueray, so a ba nwe stlamatlama Black Label. Morongwa Zwee Mokgohloa, Ga-Mokgohloa

Believe it or not, it’s over, Bucs are the champions of Wafa Wafa! I think the man who’s going to sleep like a baby is our coach, Riveiro, after all the negative things said about him when he arrived on our shore. Sibisi’s injury, in the first minute nogal, was a big blow since every player obviously wanted to be part of the final, but his colleagues fought very hard for him. To Ofori, the only player who’ll represent the PSL in the Qatar World Cup (provided he makes the cut), all the best to you. As for this cup, thanks to everyone in the Bucs camp.
